Everything You Need to Know About Saving Low Shots

Okay, so if you're not following me on Instagram you may have missed the memo. Today until Thursday I'll be posting blogs every day! I'm heading out to California Thursday evening to join the cool kids at Coachella until Monday. I love hustling and working hard, but sometimes you have to take a break, relax and have some fun. Life is all about balance!

So let's get to it! First, watch this video.

Key here is to get your top to the ball and try to meet the ball as it's hitting the ground or before. You can practice this technique doing this drill on your own, over and over again. It's not fun, but get some headphones and you can make it as fun as you want!

To get faster, and stronger I would try getting your hand to the ball, then move to using a field stick, and then go to the real stick. The only way to get better is through constant reps so go get it!!

Happy Monday!

What Does it Really Take to Get to the Top?

What Does it Really Take to Get to the Top?

Many of you most likely won’t like my answer to this question, and many of you will probably also have a resounding “duh, I knew that” in your head. The answer to this question is simple—it’s hard work. Hard work is such a huge concept, though. What does that really look like and how do you work hard as a goalie to be better?

Girls Lacrosse Goalie Specific Conditioning [VIDEO]

Almost every goalie I know has been there, tired of just popping into every single conditioning drill field players do. Not because it's hard, we can handle hard, but because it's not best preparing us for what we need to do in games.

In college, I started doing what I call Game Time Sprints which help accomplish a variety of things. You start in the middle of the crease in ready position, you can start at the cone on your right or left and work your way around the 8m back to the other cone. It is important to throw your stick out at each point, and when sprinting back always look into the middle in case a shot is thrown (just like a game!).  See the image and video below for guidance! Happy running!

Enjoy my hard breathing!!! :)
